15 ATM OVERSEAS CHRONOMETER

Hi To All,

I am from Philippines and my husband left me with Vacheron Constantin (15 ATM OVERSEAS CHRONOMETER, SELF WINDING, CLEAR GLASS TRANSPARENT ), WITHOUT PAPERS OR CERTIFICATION, My Question, is there a possibility that i can still sell it even without papers or certification?? For how much??

Thank you so much in advance.

I suggest you have a look at auction prices as we do not

provide estimates. However a watch without box and papers usually looses 20% compared to an equivalent model which is complete

Check ebay.com for prizes for your watch. What do you mean by "clear glass transparent"? If your overseas has a see through backside it is a fake.

Dear Mr. Celter, Thank you so much for the comment. Yes, its a See Through Backside, so you mean its fake?? When did the Overseas first Launch?? I keep on looking on all Vacheron Site but i cant find Leather Strap, all metal. I saw one photo they called overseas 222, and made 1921 here's the site........http://revo-online.com/forums/main/read.php?2,12397,12397 Thank you in advance, Ynciong

None of the pictures from your web link show an exhibition back

Hi, I think there is a mix up somewhere? 1. The Ref. 222 watch was introduced in 1977 but is not an Overseas.  It was an earlier VC watch that inspired the Overseas collection (OS was introduced in 1996...and in between the 222 and OS, there was a 333).  I recommend reading Alex's article of VC's sports watches: http://www.thehourlounge.com/thread/view/the-evolution-of-vacheron-constantin-sports-watches_34564_34564.html 2. There is a watch that is referred to as the 1921 because it was first introduced that year, but this watch is not related to the 222 or Overseas. 3. Only the later versions of the OS allow for interchangeable metal bracelets, rubber and leather straps.  Previous VC "Sport" watches come with metal bracelets only. 4. None of the watches from you web link have transparent case backs that allow you to see the movement.  Also, the OS collection does not have a watch with a transparent case back.  As Celter mentioned, if the watch you are looking at has an exhibition back, then I highly doubt it is an Overseas. Best Regards, Dan
Well, the best thing is to provide us with a picture of this watch

both the front and the back so that we have a better idea of the watch you have. As for auction websites, I believe you are best off looking at Antiquorum, Sotheby's, Christies, or Bonhams as the authenticity of many items on ebay is questionable. The quickest way to do this is to do a search on google along these lines: "Antiquorum + Vacheron Constantin + Overseas" and you will have lots come up in the search result. Same approach may be used for the other auction houses (i.e. for Christies, you type "Christies + Vacheron Constantin + Overseas"). Best, Walid
