1900 Omega case VC movement

Hi, I'm looking to get some idea of the value of a pocket watch I have, it's a silver pocket watch with a VC movemrnt and is in working order the case is engraved with the words omega and grand prix Paris 1900 and the reference numbers 3798682 with L 11underneath.
The numbers on the movement are 331048 and has VACHERON CONSTANTIN with the Malteze cross in between if anyone has an idea of the value it would be much appreciated, I took it to a local dealer and he offered me $250 don't know if this was a fair offer or not.

Hi, You accidentally posted the message 3 times :-) It's best if you take some photos (in focus of the dial, case and movement so that people can see it and evaluate it. Unfortunately this is not a forum were prices are generally discussed but if you have a better idea of the provenance of the watch which you might obtain here; the best bet is to take it to one of the auction houses for evaluation. you can send them photos and info on the watch. I hope that helps, JB

Hi Valefan,  welcome to THL. When you are at the screen where you make a post, you will see 3 rows of options above the text entry box.  (for formatting and various other options) In the second row, the 5th icon from the left, you will find the "image" icon  (if you put the cursor of this icon, the wod "image" pops up) Click this icon and select "upload" from the menu. Best Regards, Dan

Assuming you are not working on an iPad or iPhone like me (until an upcoming THL update, one cannot upload photos on iOS), you might find helpful our moderator Alex's suggestion "to click on the link to find out how to upload photos:" http://www.thehourlounge.com/index.php?module=Thread&action=view&threadid=2274&id=2281. The best of luck!

And what a lovely pocket watch they depict. I can hardly wait to learn what the aficionado's on this forum will tell you!
At most, this appears to me to be a VC movement recased

in an Omega case.  The dial does not appear to be seated properly in the case.  All 3 hands are also not original.  We do not really discuss values and prices of watches on THL, but I would say this watch does not have significant monetary value because it does not appear to be an original V&C or an original Omega.  I am guessing the person that is offering to buy your watch is doing it for the seperate components (movement, case, and dial), not as a complete watch.
