Recently, I've gotten some interest in the 1972 range - due to Doc's display of his historic 1972 Prestige de la France. I tried to find a men's model in a current collection both on VC website as well as through different dealers and catalogues. It seems as though there is no 1972 men's model offered at the time (?). The largest I found was 31/37 mm x 26 mm which IMO is a bit too small for a men's wrist (might pass for unisex). What is the scoop? Is there a larger 1972 model planned to expand the range?
model: ref 37010 was a man's model 26mm x 36mm x 31mm which wears rather large on the wrist, but for some strange reason the 1972 model range is now only reserved for out better halves
Thanks for the info, Alex. We'll wait and see. Maybe one day will bring a man's 1972...
come back as a man's model anytime soon. So basically you have two solutions either get a second hand model or go vintage which may seem a better solution since you seem to like larger watches (the vintage model is much larger than its modern reinterpretation)
You can also try this ultra rare dual time version
While the dimensions do not seem too large, it does wear larger than one would expect. I've had my 1972 for a little less than a year. It was one of the last in rose gold in the USA. I was quite happy to find it. Its not a watch for everyone but its become a favorite of mine. As Alex suggested look for an original vintage model, if you want something larger.
large bacause they end up looking way too bulky and this looks like a perfect size.
and quite large, too. May it only time happy moments... By the way, what are the dimensions?
