1995 at Antiquorum, this Lot was unsold!

I wonder what you would have to pay in today's hype of a the bubble brand,
a watch company without any story at all, except they made some watches for Mussolinis soliders...
Even though it's Richemont, I think it's among the worst commercial adventures I ever seen..
1995 at Antiquorum, this Lot was unsold!

For $8.000 in 1995, nobody was interested!

I feel sorry for the guys with big Panerais in the future.
Before The Big Company started it's drive, about overall 200 ( ? ) watches were sold over the few years.
The first had different simple movements, among them Rolex, who also have raised to a fine movement maker,
even though they makes as simple movements as ever.
 They works, but are uninteresting.

So, now it feels better 1995 at Antiquorum, this Lot was unsold!

Had to get it off your chest, Mats? ;-)))

Honestly, I wish I had been into watches at the time. Would've been one swell deal... I have to tell you, Panerai might be a "a bubble brand" but they have done a tremendous marketing job (thanks to Coloni and others, BTW) considering their shaky historical and technical heritage you mention. Who else rather than Coloni & Co could've pulled it off from a simple workshop/boutique to a full-blown manufacture in a respectively short time??? In my eyes, Panerai has improved considerably over the years and become more and more appealing, especially to younger crowd... And still consdering myself younger crowd I have to admit I really like the 1950 Luminor Marina Militare in this picture of yours... Probably, nowadays worth more than half of my VC collection. Now, isn't that strange?

There is a quite large 1950's Radiomir on display at the Ralph Lauren Mansion in NYC that they are asking $130K for. As I was checking it out through the inch thick glass cube it was encased in, the sales associate insisted on taking it out to show me and mentioned that they are going to be putting it up at Antiquorum sometime soon.
LOL, "tractors" is a great description. (nt)

...wears Panerai watches, it can't be bum brand. Personally I like Panerai. Cheers Mariusz
What brand of underpants does he wear?

Perhaps I should go buy a few pairs .  Seriously though, if Mr. J-C was to wear something NOT Richemont, I'd be more impressed...
I don't know. Alex didn't ask about it during the interview.

you did well my friend but I have to admit that I really like Panerai

they are like Rolex, no nonsens products, immediately recognizable and they stick to what they do best and have a consistent product range and marketing.
