This time I opened it without a problem.  I wonder why this happens? Like Dan, on numerous occasions they just won't open.  In any case, the watch looks great, for me much better than with a metal bracelet. Best, Marko

Hi Marko, I've seen a similar picture a couple of years ago on an online site selling the gold OS chronometer. I have both Gen. 1 Overseas (Chronometer and Chrongraph) and have thought about whether or not I could get leather straps for them relatively easy.  The answer, as you have also discovered, is no. Over time, I've thought about it some more and I actually like them on bracelet - especially during the hot humid days, which feel like there are more per year than cool/cold days in the locations I'm at most often.  Leather straps start to stick to my wrist and feel really uncomfortable as the temperature & humidity rise. Let us know how your ABP strap endeavors work out.  It would be great to know of a good option if I ever change my mind, again. Best Regards, Dan
You can have straps made easily, but they may not function well.

The problem is that the attachment is so narrow that the strap will not sit securely. I know; before getting rid of my Overseas Chronometer, I tried to fit it with straps in a few different ways. I think the only solution would be to have a metal insert made that would fit into the Overseas' "lugs" and would provide a stiff piece of metal to which a strap could be attached securely. Otherwise the strap moves and twists around too much.

Thank you for posting the scan again Alex. The Overseas Chronometer on strap looks gorgeous! On the other hand, I got an aswer from ABP and according to what they told me, they won't be able to make it for an Overseas Chronograph of the 1st gen. However, I was told to come to the shop in order to check whether it is really feasible or not. I'm not too confident. Too bad. The association between steel and a black alligator strap would have been great.
I remember you wearing this for one day!

You were wearing this for a whole day, deep in love with it! I still could think of one, because it's so much unusual VC that it's typical VC! Take care Doc
I would have loved to have the guts to wear it on a habitual basis :-)
