3 extremely rare VCs to be auctioned in....New York

The auction season has once again started with Antiquorum's New York auction in September, however its with the Geneva auctions of Oct and Nov that we usually see the rather extraordinary and rare pieces which are offered for sale.

However the New York Christie's and Sotheby's sales to take place in New York this month will have for auction 3 extremely rare and interesting pieces

Christies Oct 17

Lot 97 is as rare as you can get Ref 4293: a triple date moonphase minute repeater with a 38mm case in rose gold made in 1957. According to Vacheron Constantin two if these models were to be made but only one left the manufactiry making this a unique piece!! This is the very first time I'm seeing this reference, the estimate is $250,000-$500,000 (!!)

If we can just keep Doc away from the last one...

Then again he may already have that one!

IYHO what would be the real costs of having VC completely refirbish this watch?

Best to all, Miki

P.S. I could read this one, otherwise does it meet my criterion?

servicing would depend on what would need to be done. Recently I had a

vintage automatic serviced and it cost me about €500. If you do get that amazing vintage rectangular (if I had the funds I would definately be bidding on it) I wouldn't touch the dial though...

all 3 are gorgeous but the minute repeater triple date is absolutely

stunning!!!

I just can't imagine the price it will sell for...

97 and 53 would be good for me
