After going through some of the results of the recently held auction in Geneva, there were some world record results within VC:

 

The most expensive VC table clock: from Sotheby's

Yellow gold, platinum and gem-set art deco desk clock by Verger / Vladimir Makovsky.  Made in 1926

Estimated CHF 80K-120K.  Sold CHF 430,000 (including BP)

3 world record results within VC at the recent auctions!

 

 

 

The most expensive VC tourbillon PW: from Antiquorum

1st Prize Winner at Geneva Observatory, made in 1931

Estimated CHF 50K-70K.  Sold CHF 187,500 (including BP)

3 world record results within VC at the recent auctions!

 

 

 

The most expensive VC Chronometre Royale: from Phillips

Ref. 4907, possibly unique in White Gold, made in 1954

Estimated CHF 80K-140K. Sold CHF CHF 125,000 (including BP)

3 world record results within VC at the recent auctions!

 

(Factoid: this was the 2nd most expensive time only VC ever sold at auction, the most expensive being a WG Ciocolatone)

So that's who outbid me!

You can rest assured that I put up a good fight--it's just that inflation made my $20 less valuable than it once was.

These are impressiv results.  The third one, the only suprise was that there exisits a white gold CR 4907.
