47111/1 with 2 dials

Dear Respo,

following your nice salmon post, I take out of the safe this 47111/1 with his 2 dials (special order from the original collector).

Here is a wristshot and 2 dials photo:

I wonder whether additional dials can be ordered. I know there is a black dial which I believe (not absolutely sure) was made for the taiwan market. It's very sharp! JB
you normally can't have additional dials. you can still find some

of these older pieces with extra dials which were sold to good clients as a favor but this is no longer possible today
Hi Liger. I was hoping you would post...

Yours was one of the salmon dials I was studying intently as I fished for this watch.  laugh And  if my post got you to take yours out of the safe, all the better.  It is great that you have the spare dial. As I wrote, I admire all versions and dials for the 47101/47111.  Would that it were as easy to switch dials as it is to switch straps! Do you wear yours a lot?  For business, special events or daily? Given that it was in teh safe, perhaps not daily. Thanks for sharing yours. Best regards, Robert

this special piece will go out of the safe for special event, as this year during SIHH event and some dinner. I appreciate it a lot, but not as a daily wearer. Maybe, it is different for you. Very enjoyable piece of art and historical for many reasons. As Alex mentionned, the first owner was very lucky to get this EXCEPTIONAL favor from Vacheron Constantin, as a very good client. Cheers, Liger
Not sure, Liger

The watch is still too "new" to me to know how I will wear it.  Right now I am just enjoying it, wearing it carefully, but wearing it regularly -- I cannot quite put it away just yet.  I suspect that in the long run, it may become a special occasion watch or perhaps fall into the rotation for business wear.  Best, Robert

That's basically getting 2 watches for the price of one... Although I'm not sure that I would want to change that salmon dial... Cheers, Francois
Very cool indeed

to look closely to the 2 dials which are very well finished. The white is so pure that I was thinking some times to change, and not. Very funny in fact, you are right François. Cheers, Liger
I agree with Francois!

Even the black dial is not as nice. There is something magical about the salmon colour and Pt case that's so striking. JB
The obvious solution....

...is to collect them all.enlightened
Are you talking about the dials, or the watches? ;-) (nt)

It should be obvious: the watches, of course. :-)
