$600,000 for the Masks set? I also had to rub my eyes but its

the asking price of a dealer on an auction site!!

Don't know whether I should laugh because VC's collectability has fnally been recognised or cry because I don't want my beloved brand spoilt by speculators.

what's the retail price on a set of four masks?

wonder why the seller wouldn't split the set into four seperate auctions? this way he could get a better price altogehter

I agree with you Radek.

If he wants to make money, he should follow your advice...

BTW, my prefered version is also Congo mask, and after it, Indonesia.

The problem with splitting up a set is that 3 models would come

Greetings, All,

The company that is offering the Masques set has had other watches and luxury items for sale on eBay as well as their on-line store.

They are almost always overpriced by a significant amount.

Before we start congratulating VC and feel our own watches have just miraculously appreciated in value, I think it is prudent to remember that the set hasn't been sold yet.

I'm not sure that the Masques sold individually would be more expensive. Someone has to lke a give Masques watch enough to pay $150,000+ for it.

Sorry, to be a bit of a wet blanket.

But hey, who knows they just might sell quickly

Speculators always ruin things. Look at the price of oil!

It's a double-edged sword you know, VC being famous will attract many buyers, hence the increasing price - law of supply & demand. Along come speculators, with their big money to 'ruin' the passion for excellent watches like VC. They 'ruined' AP (in this case, AP happily played the game)...should I say PP as well? A simple plain PP calatrava/aquanaut (SS case + rubber strap) now costs somewhere between $18-20k! You can get DTR/Malte chrono for around $20k+! Passion has been taken over by greed

Out of the Big 3,

I am so glad that VC has not been beset by the flippers, speculators, traders, etc. as have AP and PP.

Some cynics might say that this demonstrates VC's lesser success in the market, but I think it has helped to maintain an essence of purity and passion for the brand's fans and collectors.

Dare I say, but VC offers a better value proposition...

Agree 100%! That's why I like VC...

and left AP. Not yet reached PP

Amen to that Duncan (nt)
