Very nice article, I think we are lucky to have this forum and have someone within VC to discuss things with. That said I would also say Alex is quite lucky to have the job he does, I would have done the same!
reads the card of a man. ;-)
Very cool to find out more about our webmaster.
Thank you for sharing this article.
but I would mention Dan also!
This is a special place thanks to VC and that's obvious but thanks also to the People, Mods first
It is my honor and luck to be able to have such a great time with Alex and all of you!
Long life to Alexandre and all participants of THL and The Hour Club.
Great story and some well-deserved credit and recognition. It is interesting how pervasive a true culture can be. Compare Alex's statement about their social media startegy with the statement about the design of Vacheron watches.
Alex: a brand can be traditional without being stuck in the past
The video: it must be true to it's heritage but, at the same time, not retro but "of it's time"
Those two quotes are interchangeable. There is a saying in American popular business culture, that "Culture eats strategy for breakfast". I think this is the true culture of Vacheron and that it goes to the core. Fascinating story about "The Don" and enlightening, as always, about the brand.
THL has become, under the umbrella of the Manufacture, a place more comfortable with and accepting of honest, even opinionated, discourse than the brand-sponsored pages on most of the so-called independent watch forums. I could really go on a rant but why spoil the wonderful and well-deserved recognition of what Alex has achieved with THL. The place has energy, spirit and camraderie...with a helping of info for the little grey cells thrown in.
great people and you make this forum so interesting to moderate
Congratulations, Alex! Loving the IG account as well.
And thank you, Joseph!
on THL and with Alex since 2007; and I am also, along with Dan Shao; either the first or second in the world to become member of THC. All I can say is that this is a real privilige and look forward to many many more years of such awesome fun as part of this community and to a lot more collecting !
A huge Congratulations to Alex for his superb achievement creating this online community with actual real great people behind it.
And because of my forgetfulness, I relinquish any possible claims to being the first THC member to you.
Marketing. The presentation was given by a young woman on the importance of Digital Marketing, and a host of do's and dont's etc. etc. It was really educational.
The things is; throughout the presentation the role of Alex and THL kept coming up in my head as whatever was super important and critical in terms of Digital Marketing / Social Media / Engaging with people (customers / enthusiasts / fans etc. etc.) has been done by Alex way back in 2007 and successfully been done ever since.
