Alex I am a bit curious regarding few points about the new MR:

They are as follows: A) Are the gongs dipped in horse urine as was the case with earlier VC MR's? B) Does the concept of single master watchmaker making the calibre 1731 apply only to the 1731 or to calibre 2755 as well, and possibly the other big grande complications as well? C) What does the box of the 1731 look like? My questions might be pointless but I'm just curious:-)
Hi kk, I believe the answer to B) is "yes"

The concept of a single, master, watchmaker making a grand complication calibre applies to all of VC's grande complication movements (i.e. 2755, 2253, 2260, 1731, etc.) I do not know the answers to A)  or C) and will have to wait for Alex to come back  (though I would guess they do not use horse uring anymore...but I don't really know). BR, Dan
I believe it was mare's urine, kk,

and it was the rings too. But I'm pretty sure it's not done any more. I asked about it once at the VC Manufacture and was told "no", but the person was smiling at the time (??) Joseph

When its available. Maybe with the watch in the box. I think the calibre 2260 and and 1731 stirred up maximum emotions when launched, even over the 2755 and 2253. One of my favorites is the Malte Tourbillon.
