The American 1921 special Pisa edition in the wild

As you may know VC made a special 12 piece limited edition of the American 1921 for Milanese retailer Pisa, the dial of each watch being different from the other by featuring a red numeral which also is  the individual limited number of the watch (ie: n°1 has a red 1, n°2 a red 2 etc.., n° 3 has all red numerals as the American 1921 does not have a numeral 3 on the dial).

A few weeks ago I bumped into a friend just in from Milano with the special Pisa American 1921 on his wrist bearing number 8.

Sorry for the poor pics but they were taken using my phone.

No 8 being a lucky number for most Chinese, I'd say the owner is a Chinese collector?

nope, he's Lebanese, in fact only 2 of these Pisa editions

were still available when he went to visit the retailer n° 2 and 8 so he took 8.

I see. Not that it matters...

Thanks for these photos, Alex!  Pisa seems to have a knack for classy LEs -- one of the attendees at the THL Geneva event has the Pisa Dato, and that's one beautiful piece as well. Best, GaryG

one of my favorite pieces out of any. It is pure elegance and class with a "twist". The Pisa LE is very special too because of the red numeral. I think it is a great touch! Congrats to you Alex and all owners of these special pieces.  Best, Mike
I could not agree more, absolutely wonderful! [nt]

So cool to see two 1921s on the wrist, side-by-side.  Even the photos of this rare occurence get my heart racing.  I love the way that VC and Pisa executed this special edition with each piece subtley unique.  The "8" is a very lucky and special piece, for sure. Best, respo
