Excellent pair, Michael

They both look fantastic! Can't wait to see them in person. Regards, Joseph
And so you shall when you come to NYC!

Looking forward to seeing you, too.
love this chrono Michael, the new Patek 5170 reminds me a lot of

There are certainly some similar design elements

They share an overall shape, including the lugs and square buttons, as well as the white metal and the brilliant white dials.
at the risk of incurring the wrath of my HL brethren...

...whilst I agree with you that there are similarities, in this case I would say that the usual order has been inversed, with the Patek demonstrating a bit more flair than the VC... Don't get me wrong, the VC is a fantastic piece, but I do have a soft spot for this PP... Cheers,  Francois
Great watch Michael

WOW it looks great How does it feel on your wrist? I also agree with Alex that it looks very similar to the new WG Patek chrono.
Thanks Hamish - It is heavy for it's size
07/11/2013 - 14:47
The solid platinum back really adds to the weight, but that being said, it feels great on the wrist.
beautiful! Is the dial enamel?
07/10/2013 - 17:46
It looks like enamel, but don't think it is
07/11/2013 - 14:52
I looked at it under a 45x scope and it appears to be printed with multiple layers of lacquer, probably kiln dried, but not enamel. The print is incredibly crisp and the dial is incredibly glossy, which goes very well with the white metal indexes.
the dial is in fact porcelain (nt)

WOW - Thank you Alex!
07/11/2013 - 17:43
That makes it more special than I thought.
Both watches are beautiful!

Your VC collecting seems to have accelerated, which I'm very happy to see!  Congrats on these beatiful additions!
Thanks Dan - looking forward to seeing you again

I'm in both locations :-)

I'm in NJ now and will be in HK in Sept.
Michael, are you planning on coming to Watches and Wonders?

Re: Michael, are you planning on coming to Watches and Wonders?
07/13/2013 - 01:47
Right now I am planning to arrive in HK late in the evening of Tuesday the 24th and depart for Singapore on Saturday or Sunday.  I am there for an investor conference, but do want to attend W&W.  I just don't know my exact scehdule for Wed-Sat.  I saw the invites in the Hour Club, but have not RSVPed to anything.  Can you PM or email your suggestions as to how to maximize the experience?
07/10/2013 - 23:53
I can't wait to see that Email dial.  Best, Robert
The dial did not come by email ;-)))
07/11/2013 - 14:57

Awesome catch Michael

she's a keeper.  would I be wrong to say that this is th most recent 'classic' chrono with the 3 sub-dials layout (by classic, read ex OS and Royal Eagle)? May it time only happy moments... Best, Francois
