.. and don't know quite what to say....
I'd like to thank everyone involved in the production of this triennial event:- the Production Company - thanks of course go to Vacheron Constantin without who the whole thing just wouldn't have got off the ground; the Director, he's just amaaaazing! - thanks Alex! The production crew.... well we all know who they are and they are worth their weight in gold (white gold) working so hard behind the scenes, long hours, blood, sweat, many many tears and tantrums and yet never seen. The 'unsung heroes' in any event like this. My hat is off to them - you do a great job.
Of course all the other entries were fantastic, and we are all of course winners and thank God the contest wasn't about style, creative talent or technical expertise.. heck you just had to enter!
I must mention my Agent - Owen&Robinson in the UK, who have stood by me for many years and brought me inspiration for my collection genre and guided me along the horological 'journey'. My wife, of course I must thank my wife, my kids and the Bank Manager, he has to get a mention for the financial stability he has provided.... the loose attitude towards lending policy and repayment goals and for the significant sums made accessible over and above all credit limits. Though I'm pretty sure I didn't contribute to the global meltdown.
My parents of course, for the obvious reasons, and the Sponsors, Apple. They have been such a supportive sponsor for the event and I think we all recognise the huge amount of time and resources they have put into making this event the event that it has become... a truly outstanding event in such a glamourous venue and with such perfect attention to detail, great hospitality and awards for the winners.
The caterers... they really do a great job, don't they? I think we should demonstrate our appreciation to all involved and raise a glass.... ("one more drink and I'll be under the host" - Dorothy Parker by the way).
.....My stylist, my wardrobe assistant, my drinking partner and my dog. All have stood by me and, most importantly, believed in me, and been there for me. My 'rocks'.
Thanks everybody, thanks so much. Have a great evening! [Wiping the tears of pure emotion that are rolling down face]
Did I say I wanted the iPod yet?
