The Annual Antalya Watch Show - Vacheron Constantin novelties

It is a tradition for the Turkish market to prepare a wide variety of watch products for the summer season. This year was no different and Turkish manucaftures came out with new stuff. As usual there were some great designs and bold technical solutions movement-wise - Vacheron Constantin among them.
I would like to thank everyone for this great opportunity - taking part in this amazing event was definitely a highlight of the summer!
Now let's move to the exciting part, the stars of the show - 2009 Vacheron Constantin novelties

After an exciting visit to the exhibition halls we took time to relax in the marina. Had a great lunch meal with fish called Lagos as a specialty ('my friend, it's a MERCEDES among the fish') and just deliberated which one of the great new VCs would suit me best...

Anyway, thanks for bearing with my report and for the lousy pictures I took but understandably you share my excitement just by looking at the fascinating new VC pieces...
Thanks Radek, Finally an entire VC collection that I can afford! :-)

I've got to visit that market, but then again, I think I've been to the suppliers of those markets in Beijing and Shanghai Glad you had fun, and thanks for these reference photos! BR, Dan
Considering the price range, Dan...

you could buy them bulk and still save up for the real thing I have to tell you, though, there was a Jubilee replica to be had that looked exactly like the WG piece unique (the one with a black dial) auctioned at the Antiquorum 250th anniversary sale and I could barely tell the difference. The price when I pushed hard came down from 230 EUR to 85 EUR - supposedly an ETA movement... would never get it though
Thank you, Radek. There's no lack of "fertile" imagination is there..

Hi Radek. That is one helluva collection, my friend.   I am sure you had as much fun checking them out as a I had reading your report. Really made the rough Monday a little more bearable. Glad to see you and your family enjoying. Cheers! Kazumi
P.S. Now I know where your barber gets his watches, Radek! (nt)

going for a while. I was wondering "where did these models come from and why does the moon look so bad?!' If imitation is the best form of flattery, this says a lot about VC.

fakes except for the one I didn't manage to take a picture of - a piece unique Jubilee 1755. It was a perfect replica and it was hard to tell the difference...

Radek, glad you had a fun trip. I was amazed on my recent trip to Istanbul the remarkable array of watch stores sporting the finest brands. Here one could see AP, PP, VC, etc. It was clear that these were all replicas selling for a fraction of a new genuine piece. The stores were filled with tourists trying on their inexpensive watch presents to remember their trip here. In the less expensive stores there were actual signs posted - "Fake Swiss Watches". Would they be working 10 days after purchase - that is the question for many. Take care and best regards, Matt
So you got your own Watch Show, Matt...

How did you like Istanbul, by the way? I think it's an awesome city
LOL!!

Ii's hard to say that your post is marvellous, as they always are, but WOW, I did really LOL, Yes I really did LOL Thanks Radek, you are a jewel, and probably there is none in the collection you show Doc
Thanks for the praise, Mats. I just came to realize the essence of

this post is not only to make fun of the counterfeiters. It is the most condemning of tha arts - watch replica making in that case - and we must stand here to fight those idiots trying to rip an average Joe who knows nothing about the real thing.
Excatly Radoslaw,

it's fun, no doubt, but it's quite terryfing on the other hand. Just think of Joe, young and happy and worse, perhaps he paid a real considerable sum You can wonder why these countries don't stop the forgeries??? Of course it's of importance to their GNP, so that's why we never will stop China and other main actors. Mats
Fantastic! I wonder where they get all that inspiration! (nt)
