wow yr watch is a deviation from the regular nocturnal animals (bats)..  really snob to have a vintage in such a condition, rare and minty!

Love this watch. How about more pics or a wristshot, Alex? (nt)

How about this 33mm one?
12/01/2009 - 07:35
I wore this for a week a couple of weeks ago at it fits great on my wrist, I never think "that's a small watch" :  It's 33mm across and 40mm from lug to lug.  Not as thin as the 1.64mm cal 1003, but the cal. 1120 inside this watch was the thinnest automatic at that time at 2.45mm (is it still the thinnest?  I don't know). The complete watch is quite thin - not as thin as one coin, but two when not including the crystal, three coins with the crystal.  Still its so thin that it's very easy to not notice it when strapped on a wrist. Smaller yet,not to mention one of Luca's favorites..

29mm square on Luca's 8" wrist. True "dress-up" days! Miki

Probably not the best venue to raise this issue - but the Cartier Privee really is something special, isn't it? They really know to design watches over there, and when coupled when some haute horlogerie, the final result is really quite nice. That's why I think VC has a big advantage on the other high manufatures. They know how to work with metal, and their cases are second to none.  And regarding watch size: not sure if you can go as far as the 33 today, but it seems that if the current trends continue, they'll have us wearing clocks on our wrists... Great pics from all Loungers in this thread, as always.
If you like my face, you'll love my movement!

Thanks for the kind words, Dr. S. It's a V&C with Cal. 1003. Lovely watch which is no longer in my tiny collection. I'm missing it dearly. Sincerely, Matthew
Wow ! i can't imagine the works on the case and bracelet, nobody does.

big , and big on technical and innovation. the mercator is high on my list of Vacheron iconic pieces, beautiful and unique!

I agree, it truly is marvelous and fits well on my wrist. I do believe it was ahead of it's time as well, as VC often are. Definately unique.
