Antiquorum I and II, and my library! What is this??

Warning long, but to some of you in the same position as I am in,
limiting your collecting or collection, it could be interesting laugh

For some days I been working hard in my library, depending on an order, ultimatum, from The Boss (my wife).
Three years ago when the children since long had moved out, we decided to take their two rooms,
as they were placed side by side, and make a real library, a dream since long time back,
build it on place with book cases from floor to ceiling, and so was done.
We moved books from our smaller library/home office, and living room, yes where ever we had books.
At the beginning it looked quite good laugh, but quite soon it started to get unorganized...blush

Except books a lot of binders, parts of Harley-Davidson engine, empty boxes, always good when sending a watch...,
magazines, especially watch and boat magazines, and all kinds of paper, upon paper ... all but books in order.

I have the last days thrown magazines a complete collection of the German Armbanduhren, from number one until 2007,
Timezone 2004-2008, Chronos 2004-2006, and 2 years of QP and I year of Montres.
It weight tons!blush

I put away the 3 year HP, with a tower under the writing desk, keypad and a 19" screen and a stereo.
I have sandpapered the desk, and stained it to match the book cases and finally varnished it.

I had to rearrange all my Antiquorum catalogues, first from from june 24 1994, then some years that at not complete until 1997 and 2007 out when Antiquorum, in my eyes died.
June 2007 was the last time these familiar faces was on one of the first pages, as it always has been.

Antiquorum I and II, and my library! What is this??

The question cool

What is this ??

Antiquorum I and II, and my library! What is this??

That is Post-it notes for pages in the catalogues, I have been interested in!

Another amazing thing is, when they made special auctions in the 90s, they made a book and also a catalogue,
or in some times as for Patek Philippe two books (one shown here, that's enough laugh)

or 1994 for Vacheron Constantin one book!

When I was picking out all these Post-it notes, it hit me that collecting serious, is like gambling serious.
You get caught. How many 100 hours have I not been sitting in front of my PC or at auctions?
Also spending a lot more money, than I promised myself before the auction, same as a gambler when he puts his limit,
ending up with a sold car, boat or even a home!

Well how is the result?
I'm sitting in the living room in my favourite chair writing this.
If I would scan or write something out on paper,  I can do it on this little HP deskjet writer/scanner,
temporary placed in a hall, wireless!

This is the library now, still weeks of job...

May I ask what type of wood you used for the shelves? With all those books and weight, did you have to use some type of support in the middle of the shelves to prevent bowing? All the best, Dan
your library is in fact how I would imagine The Lounge to be if it
