Antiquorum May auction

The upcoming May auction in Geneva by Antiquorum is now up on their website in the "flip-through" version.

They're all contemporary watches and arranged by metal type: PT, WG,RG,YG, etc.

There is something there for everyone including a handful of VC's (St. Gervais, couple of Toledos, Jubilee, tonneau tourbillon, and others.)

Its fun to flip through the pages, but be warned its a huge collection!! The watches are quite extraordinary. This"nobleman" should have opened a shop! What a collector!

Have fun!!!

Thanks JB, the timing is perfect for me...

as a collection I can't make sense out of it, too much in too many directions....even though a few of his pieces would make me a very very happy man

Hi Joseph,

Thanks for the info hope to go through it today. I was down in NYC yesterday looking at the previews at christies and sotheby's and they also had some nice Vacherons, there was a nice plat Toledo, several vintage chrono's (cond was not that good on the vintage chrono) and a rose and plat jubilee. I seems there are more vacherons coming to auction with some high reserves. Vacheron I hope is getting the attention it deserves.

Though I had a watch or two in mind to bid on (saw Radeks toledo and that was my #1 choice), but alas went over to cellini's and found out they were getting a new Vacheron in and its one that I really wanted so hopefully I will have that next week. I will post it once it comes in. Down side is it took all my funds and then some, so now cannot bid on the toledo and will have to sell a watch to buy the new one.

I just read Alex's post on the christies auction and wanted to clarify that the vintage chronograph that I referred to was not the "Cornes de vache". There was another chrono but not at christies. The "Cornes de vache" was beautiful and nice excellent condition.

now I'm really curious !!! (nt)

Yes, its almost like letting someone loose with a pocket full of money in a candy store.

That massive accumulation of watches must have occurred in the last 10 years or less.

I can just see this guy walk into Les Ambassadeurs in Geneva:

"Je voudrais ca et ca et les deux ici et ces trois-ci et donnez-moi toutes les Vacherons a la fenetre et les Langes aussi."

And this probably went on every month for years.

Then again, maybe he had a "personal shopper" LOL

It's funny, when I saw the Platinum Toledo I immediately thought of you... Mr. Platinum indeed

I think I might know which new VC you are getting... in platinum, correct?

Can't wait to see the pictures...

Hi Francois,

Did we discuss this at the Vacheron dinner? If not you have a new career ahead of you...super slueth.

Mr L

well, we didn't discuss it directly...

...I'm just basing my huntch on one or two comments you might have made during the dinner...

I might be wayyy off...

am I right in thinking the piece is in platinum?

I do have a liking for that metal

Thanks for the input on the avatar I will have to give it some thought.

Mr L

As a coincidence, I looked at this yesterday evening!
04/23/2008 - 16:00

And I found that this guy accumulated a lot without a real link among his pieces.

I am wondering now what some of VCs will quote, but I will not be on that auction.

I would have liked to get the chrono Cornes de Vache from Christies, but it is some money yet!

Just wait , still.

Thanks for the update Joseph (nt)

Thanks JB...

Thanks JB, this is a great heads-up for one of the

largest collections I have seen in a long time. This also came in handy, as others have said they have never heard of a collection over 500 quality watches before. You could fill a few shops with this collection. Thanks again, Tim
