Me too, Duncan. But I have to say your Singapore flag YG Jubilee is...
11/22/2008 - 08:56
a piece unique and thus extremely lovable
Thanks Radek. It is special but I wish...
11/23/2008 - 13:43
that I was more of a YG fan.  Anyway, either the PT or WG piece will be getting some wrist time this week... Cheers, Duncan
Radek, you are building a great collection, my 2 fav watches
11/22/2008 - 14:11
I cannot tell you which one is #1 because it depends on the day.
that Patek 3450 is just amazing..so is the platinum Jubilé :-)

.
Thanks John. I have great mentors ;-))) Your perpetual calendar Patek

is simple and very pretty. But you know how I feel about VC - it just doesn't get any better than that
We definately know how you feel about your vacherons
11/23/2008 - 13:50
Thats why we like and respect you so much. btw I saw a paddle come up at one of the auctions from Warsaw Poland I wonder HMMMM!!!! John
you know me, I like to get all the action. Unfortunately this time...
11/23/2008 - 23:01
I missed the beautiful Cioccolatone triple date... It just flew out of the roof - it was simply way too expensive in my opinion. Hope to have more luck next time this wonderful vintage piece comes up for auction...
sorry you didn't get it, but there's always another one...:) nt

true... and if things keep on going downwards, you'll probably end up
11/24/2008 - 15:35
getting one cheaper than what you might have been prepared to pay this time... In the meantime, I guess that you'll have to survive with the few VCs that you currently have... this is heartbreaking Seriously, good luck Radek in your future hunt! Cheers,  Francois
a hard choice indeed...
11/24/2008 - 15:40
that pt Jubliee is beautiful (and that's a very nice photo of it, John!)... ...and the PP has the perfect dial lay-out for me... When I was talking about my dream perfect watch in my 47212, this is the type of dial I was thinking of... Thanks for sharing! Francois
Personally, I say save the money by not buying a camera and...
11/22/2008 - 00:59
use it towards another watch. Cheers, Duncan
Actually, it's a very good piece of advice from Duncan, Lin!
11/22/2008 - 09:00
It might lead you to another VC piece quicker than you think

Thats a beautiful 1912.  Here is my VC for today. Best regards, Dino

Hi Dino, I have recenty seen a used Caree Historique endorsement on...
11/22/2008 - 09:24
one of the online auction sites for over $20k. Your LE VC has immensely gone up in value over the last year or two
Re: Hi Dino, I have recenty seen a used Caree Historique endorsement on...
11/22/2008 - 13:31
Wow.  I had no idea.  The Caree Historique was the first true dress watch that I ever bought, and the watch I bought after I got my first real job so it has a lot of meaning to me and it remains one of my favorites.   Thanks for the good news and your platinum 1755 is absolutely beautiful. Best regards, Dino
I can understand why... (nt)

I'm going to have to start looking at cases that aren't round.  Between yours and Joseph's they look terrific! All the Best, Tom

Hi Tom, thanks for the kind words about my watch.  I think Joseph and Miki's non-round watches are also really handsome.  Also tonneau or tortue shaped watches usually have a nice curvature to hug the wrist.  If you do not have a non-round dress watch I highly recommened getting one.  I have round sport watches, but of the 3 dress watches I own, none are round.  I really like sort of offbeat (no pun intended) watch cases.   Thanks again for the kind words. Best regards, Dino

Beautiful Dino! A magnificent case and dial. The blue strap looks pretty sharp too. You've really captured the relief around the numbers. An excellent photo! I can see how some peoplse see the base of the Eiffel tower as the ispiration for the case design. Regards, Joseph

Hi Joesph, Thanks for the kind words about my watch.  I've never  thought of the Eiffel tower as a possible inspiration for the case, but now that you mention it I can see it as a possibility.  When these watches were new, they were often overlooked due to their relatively small sized case.  But in person they wear larger than they are due to their lugs.  I really like the relief around the numerals and the sunken subdial.   Love your dual time!  Its a great balance between function and beauty.  The case is fantastic and makes that watch stand out from dual time watches available from other companies.  I hope that it gets lots of wrist time. Best regards, Dino

At lunch with other VC fan's, 2005,

These must be more popular than I realized...
11/22/2008 - 22:46
or are there just more of us that need a watch we can read? At any rate this one may be history as I've found a Carree! Miki
Re: These must be more popular than I realized...
11/22/2008 - 23:53
Hi Miki,  thats definitely a fantastic looking watch!  The moveable lugs and "exploding" numberals are very cool!  I hope its getting some good wrist time even if you are considering trading it for another VC. Best regards, Dino
