It is the calibre in the original "Prestige de la France" watch

your friend is a lucky person Just curious because that is one of the movement's that had the Gyromax free sprung balance. plus wanted to check out the layout.

Not a 1972 model but i think at least not common.

so it is an oval shaped movement with a funky shaped black polished end-cap.  Movement's like these I can understand having a display back because you can actually see quite a bit of the inner working of the watch.
