Anyone know about this watch?

Hi all.  I found a listing at an online reseller (an AD) for this piece.  Anyone know anything about it?

Anyone know about this watch?

My cursory attempts to find its reference have been futile.  It is lovely and listed as a 32mm.  They don't really list much else?  It has the Maltese Cross tang buckle.

I really need to start completing my thoughts before I hit publish...

Sloppy online habits (and no edit feature) getting the best of me.

It is not evident from that picture, but the watch is in need of restoration - particularly the dial.  If you enlarge it a little bit, it becomes quite obvious.

Hi,

It's a reference 6068 using the Cal 1001.

It's mentioned in Bill Lind's article on the Purists that I quoted in my article on the CR watches. I believe it's from 1955.

Here is an exerpt:

The new photo uploader seems to restrict size so the fine print is lost.  Here is a crop of the ad showing the reference number you mention Joseph smiley

This is better

Thank you Joseph

I had a feeling you might now. I forgot this was the exact one you posted about. It is lovely and more subtle than I expected. A pity this is not a better specimen. Thank you again.

You too Dean.

Viewing on iPhone got me to lose track of who I was reading from. Thank you guys.

I saw the watch too.

They were asking way too much given the condition.

It's not a CR movement and I wonder what shape the movement was in. I can't recall if there was a photo of it.

Best,

Joseph
