Really impressive

These watches are quite a collection. There certainly seem to be people who prefer to put their faith in Mr. Patrizzi. Maybe he made them an offer they couldn't refuse? Certainly, to a potential buyer, the idea of no premium is very attractive. This auction is a collectors' dream. Lots of interesting "stuff", not just VC. The results, given at least 3 other auctions around the same time, should be interesting. Joseph
I'll have 37, 39, 140 and 147 :-) (nt)

Mr Patrizzi, can you explain your prices ?
11/06/2008 - 21:42
for instance, lot 19 is estimated between 14 500 & 16 000 € when you can get it from a renown german reseller at 9 900 € including taxes ? Where is the bargain for the buyer ? thank you in advance, Bernard

Hi Berny, I think that's the way he gets around the "no premium" for buyers (??) JB
the man's gotta make a livin'... :-) (nt)

Beautiful pieces and some astronomic prices !
11/06/2008 - 23:27
I would like to have  lot 61, 36 or 20, in that order. 61 is my dream watch but for the moment not affordable !! I think the estimates are extremely high on several of the watches, but as I said before,in bad times the prices of vintage watches rises ! I seen it before at two times. I recently sold some VC's so I know that for sure Just my 2 Crowns See you in Geneva at SIHH Doc
Ahhh, good to hear that you'll be at SIHH!! (nt).

Very impressive collection of VCs...
11/07/2008 - 01:38
My favorites, in no particular order: Lot 20 Lot 21 (I love the dial... I would change the strap though) Lot 61 (amazing case...) Lot 94 (yummy) Lot 139 (more recent, but still a classic) Lot 147 (not because its a repeater, rather because I adore the lugs and the dial is perfect) CHeers, Francois
An impressive start for Patrizzi Auction Co.!

The minute repeater is amazing but way out of my league. Alex, my prayers have been answered. I think I have to get myself together and come up with a strategy here. Will get in touch for a piece of advice...
Interesting test of the market....

to see if this recession is typical and people reinvest in gold & jewelry, or it signifies a change of values and people retreat from all excess goods.  Patrizzi's format may not help as the perception is of higher prices although with the other's hidden buyer's premiums it probably evens out. My favorites are the steel chronos, lots 21, 62 (very tastey), and 63.
