The best is sometimes the simplest...

Since John showed us scans of his new Overseas with a leather straps...I totally fall in love of this "new" watch! The best is sometimes the simplest...

I can't stop to look at the pics ... and, I think that after 11 years of R&D to know how to adjust a leather strap on the Overseas, we could expect a relly original thing!

...An NO...they just changed the bracelet! LooL (but it's absolutly marvelous!! ) The best is sometimes the simplest...

If I well remember, the Overseas case are composed of two distinct parts: the case and two others parts for the lugs.

For me, THE most lovely element of the Overseas is the bracelet! (the case is nice too, but the bracelet has a special charism)!

So why they didn't take this as a starting point?

Just my 2 cents.

What do you prefer dear Loungers?
- in steel: inspired by the actual configuration
- in PG: First variation with Malte cross

- in stell (chrono): Second variation with Malte cross

I tried to make a Malte Cross maillon, but too hard The best is sometimes the simplest...

just thinking the same idea....

of course I dont have your master skills in photoshop...but I like the brownish/rose Idea too...

that would make a beautiful HL special edition VC! (nt)

definately would have looked even cooler if the Maltese cross

link was kept but technically I don't know how feasable it would be.

However, the idea of having a strap on the Overseas is something that came with the new management (end 2005) and something they have been working on for over a year. Surprising how something which seems as simple as a bracelet really neds so much time to develop especially due to the complexity of the case and the necessary force the strap needs on a very small portion!

Fred Xerxes  good to have 2 design masters on board

extended offering...

Furthermore, I am guessing that VC also wanted to extend their offering for the sport watch fans by introducing the leather & rubber as well. Looking at direct competition you have the new Nautilius that was introduced 2006 with both leather and rubber straps and of course AP ROO etc. so it was kinda sorta by time that they also provided these new versions…and they have done a marvelous job too!

It's taken a long time to develop the leather/rubber strap...

but judging from Jim's pix the effect is splendid.

Now I will finally consider getting an Overseas. I really like Jim's US LE. Will something similar find its way into regular production line?

I agree with you that it would have been nice to try to keep the Malte Cross shape in the lugs - I really like your First Variation in PG

But even with the current lugs and leather strap, the OS Dual time is just MONEY - I am falling in love with it "for the second time" (a bit like Kellogs' Corn Flakes).

I implore the HL Special Edition judges to include as part of the finalists the PG OS Dual Time with Chocolate dial

Francois, I don't want to disappoint you but no matter how hard

I implore VC they will not accept to remake the OS dual time in RG/chocolate dial with a strap just because the  original model was a limited edition

Not great news, put I see your point...

Well, then I propose to have it RG with a black dial instead (still keeping the brown strap)
