Book: "Secrets of VC - 250 Years of History" by F. Cologni

Any info would be most appreciated: is this just a picture book or is there some substative text on history of VC, production methods, and description of the movements.

If available, some scans of the "substantive" text would be appreciated.

(Am thinking of getting this book, but do not want to get another picture/coffee table book(.

Hi AJ, it is a great book and one that should be in all V&C

afficianado's libraries. There is an excellent history of the Manufacture, with very interesting and well documented photographs. There are sections on pocket watches, wristwatches, clocks and interesting stories along the way as to who ordered certain pieces in History--with some remarkable camera work on many pieces. The last numbered page is 335 and my copy, not for sale, has a DVD in the back sleeve--so the information just keeps coming. I would never post a scan without written permission, so that would need to come from our kind moderator, if possible. It is a volume I go back to again and again for information, admiration and to do a little dreaming. I am sure you will find some favorites too. Read it in good health. Best to all, Tim
I agree

Lots of great pics AND text. The whole illustrated history of VC. This one is better than the one he did for JLC. You won't regret it! JB

I have with it is that the last section (post 2000) period sounds too marketing whereas the rest of the book (80%) is filled with interesting facts, stories and photos. Its a reference book for all VC aficionado.

Is the DVD (in the back sleeve) supposed to be included in EVERY copy of the book? Does everyone who responded to my post have it in their copy? Thanks, AJ

I have "Secrets of VC - 250 Years of History" and this book doesn't contain the DVD.
The DVD in my book is inside the back cover. The movie is copyrighted

by Vacheron Constantin and the title is "Voyage au coeur des secrets de Vacheron Constantin". Any further information should be given by V&C. Best, Tim
the film can be found in the Goodies section " A Journey to the Heart

My AD gave me the book when I got my Jubilee 1755, and I never noticed the DVD in the back cover till after a year had gone by... Thanks to the video, I ended up getting kidding!
Great choice...
