How's métiers d'art mécaniques ajourées high jewellery (caliber 4400 sq)? I just bought it at Geneve few months ago. Usually, our family likes patek philippe better. But after we went to Vacheron Constantin in baselworld, I start to get into Vacheron Constantin. Can anyone tell me more details about metiers d'art 4400SQ? Also, my father had just purchased métiers d art mécaniques gravées (caliber 4400/1). How's metiers d'art?
Why are you asking how is the watch / metiers d'art after you have bought it?
Now since you are an owner, what are your impressions? Please share some pics.
Metiers D'Art is a facinating collection. And the calibre 4400 is superb.
The Metiers d'Arts pieces are great examples of VCs ideals. It is interesting that you mention Baselworld, as I did not thing VC participated? Either way, they are brilliant watches and these are two wonderful examples of the crafts that Vacheron keeps alive and at the center of the ethos. As for the movement, VC have always been masters of the SQ (skeletonized) movements and I think this is a beautiful example of it.
I do hope we will see wrist shots once you receive them!
VC participates at SIHH in Geneva every January.
The.Openwork (aka skeletonized) cal 4400SQ is beautiful, your father picked up a beautiful watch. Can I ask which version/color ring he picked?
IMHO, nobody does openwork as well as VC, and their modern work is even better than their older work!
If you look at the 4400SQ carefully, you will see there is a depth dimension to the openwork. It really has a 3-D look that older movements (1120SQ, 1003SQ) do not. This is because all the new in-house VC movements were designed with openwork in mind. Eventually, I would not be surprised if all of VC's movement to have openwork versions.
Welcome to THL!

Hi Jon Yi,
Your icon shows the dial on a Mecaniques Ajourées. Do you have a full picture you could share. That's a beautiful watch.
