This Vacheron is not to criticize objectively, it's just a matter of personnal taste.
First big classical watch are normally not my taste, secondly I am sensitive to subjectivity.
This is just the way a watch "speaks to me" or not.
It can be modern or classical, big or small, the question is "what dream do I see here"? It's Proust Madeleine.
The american 1921 speaks by itself and by her title, you play the role of Great Gatsby
The Quai de l'île is a space ship or a machine from the future , just perfect for Virgil of the Thunderbirds
For the Cabinotiers it is not directly obvious but something speak to my mind, so much class in these watches.
The unique Philosophy is also making me dream, because there is something more than, aesthetic, finish and complications.
Here... hmmm welll, it is beautiful, the Patrimony design is good, the dial looks great, caliber is a fantastic piece of art , and so are the complications. But which bell in my mind does it ring? For me nothing, for others maybe.
I remember the 2755 I tried. Same impression, impressive but not the subjective thing that changes a very good watch into a heartbreaker where you cannot think. I think a watch should be marketed to the developpment before being conceived.
Some people react like me, see the success of vintage Rolex, Panerai or reedition.
They are miles away from the finish of Vacheron but they make people dream.
But some other reacts differently and the different collections of Patrimony, Métiers d'Art or Historiques are reflecting this.
