Can't believe this would ever happen with Vacheron Constantin watch

Hello,
Last year i purchased a Vacheron Constantine watch from a distributor in Israel. After using it a few times last week during my friend's wedding i noticed that on the back on the gold plate of the watch there were two little screws missing, one on top right corner and one on the bottom left corner. I was in schock when i realized that a luxury watch like this could be missing scrwes? This is just unacceptable. I am going to contact the local ditributor in Tel-Aviv and see what could ever happen to a luxury watch as this one. I really don't know if i should stay with this brand or change to something "better".

Thank you

WOW I can understand your shock and I would also be pretty mad if

it happened to me. I don't think I had seen this sort of thing before but even though you are rightly unhappy I wouldn't turn my back to VC (or any brand in this case) because of this. As in all things involving the human hand things like this can happen and there could be quite a few reasons that the screws came loose (case back opened after the watch was sent to the retailer and badly screwed back?). I hope the retailer can have it fixed in no time.
I've had the same happen to one of my Pateks! Things like this

happen and it is always unpleasant when it happens to you. Its unfortunate but doesn't bring VC (or PP) down the desirability ladder in my book. I'm sure the AD will have it fixed in no time. On a side note I would love to see the dial side of this special piece
Yep, let's see the dial!

Sometimes it happens. Buying a luxury item or using some luxury service makes the possibility of "unpleasant" situations very low but it does not guarantee that something unexpected will not happen. One my friend has bought a fine business-class car (I'm not comfortable saying exact brand and service-center location cos they have compensed everything) from a respectable dealer, and during one planned service on "the very brand" service center a worker has fogotten something inside the car near the engine so it caused some unexpected problems :)

I have another friend, and every time he sees such situation, he thinks the following: May be the extraordinary situation (with a possibility to happen approx 1/10000000), is a sign to pay more attention to small details in these spheres of life/business where they can be less expected :-)
OK here it comes!!!

This watch was sent after 4 years for service to Girard-Perregaux ( my second love ). Arrived after some months... Didn't work... Why?? Look my friends.. Just have a look at the lose screw at the back, after service, that we all know it's not so cheap OK, they fixed but after another three months later it's on my wrist. For how long? GP is very service minded, but sh-t happens to all fine brands and we have to take it. Otherwise we can always buy a Seiko quartz... and forget all troubles.. Doc
