Congrats on the new site - just bought a VC Patrimony Contemporaine

Hello all, congrats on the new site. I just bought a Patrimony Contemporaine as my first Vacheron (the white gold version). This is a special watch commemorating a special ocassion so I wanted to get the back engraved with some initials (for me, the lack of a display back was perfect!). When this is done, my sense is that the back must be removed before engraving to avoid damage to the movement. My AD says the exact opposite. What are the official (& unofficial) recommendations? Thanks. BTW The area you type in is very, very small - probably need to get your web designed to increase the area

reply given by your AD, simple logic wants that the case back be removed for the engraving. My suggestion is to have the case back removed by your watchmaker and send it to be engraved.

Please post photos of the watch. Did you change the strap color?

I got the white gold version and kept the black strap. I am hunting for an antique (yet new :)) very dark brown croc with large scales for it. I'll definitely post pics once I figure out how to do so on this. I'm a mac user, so perhaps it's just a touch more complex for me. Cheers & I'm glad you agree that taking the back off is neccessary.
Posting pictures is easy

When you open a post just click on the icon which looks like an envelop on the top right and you can directly upload your photo

PS: I like dark brown on white metals

Congrats on your new VC. Enjoy and wear in health. I could be wrong, but did

we meet at a TO watch gathering?

Regards,

Victor

No sir we didn't - I was just discovering the watch enthusiast talk on the web at that time, so did not attend. I hope to in the future Victor. Thanks.
