1928 for me, way ahead of its time>>>

in appearance, don't know that much about the movement, but have always had a thing for that watch. Thanks for reminding me of another watch for the collection! Best, Tim

Wasn't the 1936 the first retrograde movement? (nt)

as far as know it was the 1st wristwatch with retrograde indication (n

The 1997 rendition of the original 1912 is nice (as can be appreciated in your previous posts).  However, I must admit that the original 1912, with its more elongated case and Breguet hands, looks even better (at least from this collage).

Nice pictural, thanks Alex!

My favourite out of those remain the Malte Tonneau Tourbillon

Hi Alex,

THe World of Vacheron-Constantin has photos of many tonneau and other VC watches as I'm sure you know (from their Heritage collection).

Many from the 30's are exquisite with beautiful bezels and dials. The one in your photo in the middle/lower-right from 1936 is there.

These are really beautiful designs, done with love and passion and real craftsmanship.

VC obviously carries on that tradition today.

I think (IMHO) it would be interesting to have VC bring back some of these designs in a modern guise while maintaining the essence of the original designs.

I wish to see the Historique collection updated with one or more form

My dearest Les-Historique
02/03/2008 - 18:00

The impressionable product line called Les-Historique arose 1990's.

It disappeared in 2000 though it was familiar with it for about ten years. And, it appeared again in front of us in 2006. Please forgive me when the mistake is found in the spec etc.

Its nice to get to see all of them together like this for comparison reasons. Is 1935 a day/date/minute repeater...thats very impressive. I would love to see V&C come out with such a watch with a more contemporary look. Downside to it would be a watch I love to have but would not be able to afford it.....maybe in my next life.

Hi John, its a perpetual calendar minute repeater! (nt)
01/30/2008 - 13:39

Alex..when I saw the retrograde date I thought it might be, but
01/30/2008 - 14:03

I don't see the month????

good point, no month but still a perpetual!! (nt)
01/30/2008 - 15:23

George, I understand,
01/29/2008 - 12:51

as I see this VC, which I never seen live,

that it's got something special,

and that you are tempted.

It's the same movement as in my Les Historiques !

Right price, why not ?

I think the Historiques models soon will be classic,

some already are, like mine and of course the chronograph

Doc...I love this dial
01/29/2008 - 15:08

It's the classic look from the 50's with the guiloche in the senter and the smooth surface around the hour markers. I also think the applied numerals and hour markers give it a elegance to it. The case has a nice balanced look and the crown looks big enough to easily wind. I definately look at this as a classic already

When was this made? Whats the diameter?
