Couldn't make it to SIHH, but I have my own VC family to comfort me

I had to take a picture while I actually have all of them together in one place, otherwise 1 or 2 are away at the VC spa.  This is a great way to convince yourself that several VCs are needed - so you can rotate them when servicing is required. Couldn't make it to SIHH, but I have my own VC family to comfort me

I just got the pocket watch back, but unfortunately may need to send it back in.   Couldn't make it to SIHH, but I have my own VC family to comfort me

This picture was taken at around 2am and in a bit of a rush, so excuse the lighting issues - but I'm getting over jet lag and needed to play with my collection while its complete. Couldn't make it to SIHH, but I have my own VC family to comfort me

I really like the vintage wrist watches although the retrograde date is another dainty VC that doesn't get mentioned often enough. I like the VC tray too. All the best! Kazumi
Thank you sir, the retrograde date is my most special one

from a sentimental/intrinsic value point of view. I got the tray throught the fleaBay, apparently not all of the VC listings are junk BR, Dan

Dan, looks like you have a healthy VC family. Can understand though while one is at the spa - a new acquistion could happen :)). Get some rest.  Best regards, Matt
Thanks Matt, I highly recommend more than one VC

if at all possible .  It really does make the time needed to service a watch, especially a vintage one, not as painful.  Can you get your wife to agree?    BR, Dan

Hi Dan, I'm sorryyou weren't there too. It would have been nice to see you again. Very nice collection, BTW! Best regards, Joseph
Thank you Joseph, I really wanted to go to SIHH

I initially thought I could, but a new business venture I'm involved with took precedence.  But if thinks work out the way we expect, the watch fund can grow...and you know what the result would be . I'm definitely going to try and make it in 2011.  I also hope to be able to see you again, sometime earlier than that - the year is young . BR, Dan
I really hope that you do make it next year!

And let's hope that this venture of yours does work out Cheers,  Francois

What can I say, I have a VC addiction .  There are 2 more on my wish list - but I don't plan on many acquisitions until 2012/2013 (yeah, yeah, I know - lets see how long that lasts ). I'm sorry we didn't meet up either.  Went to LV for the Consumer Electronics Show right after the New Year and then to Philadelphia for the entire week after that.  One quick weekend, and back to Beijing. Let's try to meet next time! BR, Dan
Absolutely!!!.....

I've been enamored with a minute repeater, split-second chronograph, chronometre pocket watch for over a year now. The other one is a platinum Chronometre Royal 1907.  I think it would fit my CR collection and interests very well (the Pt complements the YG and RG that I already have, and I want one with a center seconds hand).  I've looked at the WG ref. 6694 ("Batman" CR with cal 1072/1)  but its aesthetics just don't do it for me. Luckily with the colleciton I already have, I am very, very happy , so I can wait and bide my time. BR, Dan
