Cuff Links

Here are those cufflinks.

I bought them a long time ago (1960's), long before I knew anything about watches.

I got them in a local department store after I bought my first shirt with French cuffs and needed a pair of cufflinks to go with them.

I had put them aside for decades, thinking they were a bit gaudy but after falling in love with watches, I took them out and had a closer look. Now I wear them from time to time and that usually elecits quite a reaction from other watch aficianados.

When I said they were "real", I didn't mean real gold...rather real watch movements!

They are either plated or sprayed with gold paint. Each is different and if you look closely one still has the balance spring intact.

I've never heard of either company, Helbros or Hamann and Koch but they are both Swiss-made.

Neat, eh!?

You meant they were real watch movements re-made into links? Wow! Those are some very original links!

Thanks for sharing the pictures and the story!

That's as WIS as an object can get! Very cool, and interesting that

Really incredible to see this. I doubt one can find these kinds of cuff links nowadays.

It was a very good idea when you bought them, in advance for your future watch collecting!

Uber Cool!!!

I think they are amazing, it is such a good idea! I am sad however that it will probably be hard to find another pair...

JB, thanks for the pics, and now you only have to deliver the pictures of your new beauty... I am impatiently waiting for those!!!

They are marvellous!

For about two years I was looking for such buttons,

the closest I came was to an artist ( female ) in Germany.

Then I had a crash on the computer and I couldn't find her email again...

And, we were in negotian, they weren't cheap...

The main problem for me, was that they didn't work....

This are the one's I have ( only pics of, sorry to say).

that are VC's AND working

The first one's I had possibility to buy,

but I was to greedy,

which I still have hard to admitt

I trust myself with my fathers from 1942

and some cheaper with the Swedish stae symbol since God knows when

But still yours are just LOVELY
