Date Dial on the Overseas Dual Date

Dear all:

I just tumbled upon the Overseas Dual Date with white dial a few days ago and have been captivated by its beauty until today when I noticed something on the date dial. Where the number 1 is. I found the number 1 on the date dial to be quite grotesque and ruined the entie piece. For me, this drawback is almost a complete turned off. Almost because everything else is so tastefully done for such a busy dial and I do not have a ready alternatives in mind.

My questions for those who own this watch are these: 1) have you been bothered at all by this blemish? 2) if you have, did it finally grow on you? is it very noticeable to you most of the time? or do you simply learn to live with it? 3) do other people notice the defects too? 4) is the blemish more prominent on a white or black dial? and 5) do you know if VC will come out with a new Overseas Dual Date anytime soon? I'm hoping VC will find a way to fix this blemish with a new model.

Thank you for reading my post and my pleasure to be here.

Small 1 on date dial?

I think the "blemish" is the size of the 1 on the date numeral compared with the other numerals.  It is about half-size.  It's somewhat difficult to see clearly in photos, but I think you can make it out here:
Thanks Eric, I was confused.

When I daw OS Dual Date, I wasn't sure if the OP meant the large dual date windows on the OS Chronograph, or the date on the OS Dual Time. Ideally, I think the "31" and "1" are squeezed together too much on the Dual Time, but it would not be a big thing for me if the dual time function was important to me. BR, Dan
AP RO does it this way...

With the small sub-dial, the ability to distinguish between "31" and "1" placed next to each other was handled by VC with the size difference, and by AP with a color difference. Khanh, do you have a different suggestion?

In all the time that I owned the OS DT in YG, including macro photography, I never noticed the use of a small marker for the first of the month! And I am known for being very particular about design features of watches. My advice: if it drives you nuts, don't buy the watch! There are plenty of us out here who don't mind this design feature at all, apparently, so we will take up the slack... Best, GaryG
