December Scenic Shots Part I

December is a month rich in imagery so I'm hoping for several threads of Christmas and holiday photos, VC and non-VC.  Thus the 'Part I' in the title. December Scenic Shots Part I

A dubious honour was bestowed upon my home town last night which triggered this photo of the view outside my window.  At 5 a.m., Edmonton was the coldest place in Canada!  Our international airport registered -59°C with wind chill December Scenic Shots Part I.  If you were sheltered from the breeze, you only felt an ambient -46°C December Scenic Shots Part I.

Anyone interested in what that looks like can imagine this view of the ice fog that hangs over the city today.  Sounds are strangely magnified with footsteps crunching and car tires humming.  Exposed skin will freeze so everyone that dares to venture out is bundled except for the eyes...and eye lids will freeze shut without a quick wipe with a bare hand every once in awhile.  And its too cold to ski December Scenic Shots Part I.

That is remarkable tick-talk! Living in the Southern US I am not used to seeing things like this.......

I feel sorry for the neighbourhood that had a power outtage for 12 hours last night!  Although I understand the birthrate goes up nine months after a cold spell .

An ambient -46°C, indeed. Wonderful shot, though. Can't even fathom...small world - big differences. Keep warm.

Hi Gary.  I probably suffer in heat the same way you might in cold.  Adapt or die!  You may wish to search the phrase 'Heights of Vacheron' for a cold-weather test of the VC Overseas...
I love cold sunny winters! What a shot :-) (nt)

That looks like God's country up there, although the weather is a bit too cold for me being from Southern California. Best, Mike
