desperately need help

Hi all,

This isn't about a VC watch, but I still need help...

I had my minute repeater pocket watch serviced (he cleaned/oiled it), but the hours repeater does not strike anymore (the hammer moves, but no sound). So I need the repeating mechanism tweaked. The watchmaker said he cannot do it and that the hour repeating spring might need replacing as it seemed very old/weak to him...

If it had been a VC I would have had it serviced by VC, but it isn't one...

He doesn't know anybody around who can do it, so I am asking for people's help in finding a reputable watchmaker who can fix and adjust the repeating mechanism... somewhere in the United States as I don't want to send it via customs anywhere...

Many thanks for your help,

You can also try Alkis Kotsopolous at Swiss Watch Repair in NYC.

He is the authorized "guru" for Lange & Soehne watches and is reputable,  a master craftsman and not too expensive.

Anyone who knows anything about Lange will know Alkis. He's also a very nice person.

You can call him and if he can't do it he might know someone who can.

Hi Nico,

If you don't know for sure, Joseph does.

That being said, RGM is not a bad choice.

Good luck, Miki

Thanks guys, I am going to start asking... will let you know. (nt)
