Disco volante.

This is the name given to this watch by the seller. After 3 weeks shipping between Italy and France (i was a litle bit anxious !!), it is arrived and i am not disapointed.

18K gold, 35 mm diameter, "Guilloché bezel, non visible lugs; it's exactly what i like.

Disco volante.

Disco volante.

Disco volante.

The dial also "guilloché" with the center paint unfortunatly with some little dots but less than the numeric pictures suggest. The gold winding crown is original and perfectly fitted with the bezel.

Disco volante.

It contains a caliber 466/3B with a specific Vacheron Constantin micrometric regulator. Movement N° : 478336.  Case marked : 385. Back marked : 332385.

Disco volante.

A smooth polising, a new wrist and it will be perfect.

Enjoy as i enjoy.

Best regards.

Gorgeous Patrice! I love the way the guillochage of the dial reflects

in the best of health.

What a great vintage watch

Someone posted earlier that the vintage watches have more "soul" to them after seeing this piece I agree. I love the concentric "Guilloché" work on the bezel and then the dial. It appears from the picture there is a nice patina to the case which gives it a funky vintage look that only age can create.

Wear it in good health and thanks for sharing the pictures with us.

I have never seen such a watch, even in books or on the net.

The figures show its anniversary in 1953 (if I am not wrong): really a beauty, especially the guilloché...

Alex, this 466 caliber is not so often found, I think: can you tell us more?

Wear it in good health and I hope you won't forget to show it to us next time.

Cheers, Patrice

some info on Cal 466/3B
01/01/2008 - 12:55

its a derivative of cal 457 and 458, it has a 20.6mm diameter and a 4.15mm thickness, Breguet spring, the 3B has this funky regulating system as seen on Patrice's scan. The 466 and 466/3B are chronometer grade calibers.

i have always found hobnail bezel and hidden lugs appealing. well.....

maybe subconciously we  diamonds. it'll be perfect for u if the dial has less freckles though. anyway, a great piece and wear in good health.
