Doc have a dream!

I have a dream, eternal summer time….

’Summer Time’ or ’Daylight Saving’
Already 1908, there was a bill in The British Parliament, based on a suggestion to introduce, ’ Summer Time’ or ’Daylight Saving’, of Mr William Willett of Brighton, of course my hero, Winston S. Churchill, saw en extra boon for the ‘wage-earning classes’.

During WWI it was introduced 1916, to just save energy, and kept the year around.

During WWII it was introduced once again, 1940, after having been absent for the time between the wars.

In 1940, during TheSecond World War, the clocks in Britain were not put back by an hour, but two, and clocks continued to be advanced by two hours the year around!
During these years therefore, Britain was 2 hours ahead of GMT and operating on British Double Summer Time (BDST). The clocks were brought back in line with GMT at the end of summer in 1945.

First of all I can’t understand why UK has GMT, and the rest of Europe have GMT +1, even those countries as Spain, that are east of most places in UK?
But on the other hand I love that people so much so I accept it!

But have a look at your World Timer or a Time Zone Map!

Doc have a dream!

Doc have a dream!

They are very interesting!

And China, one time for all their time zones!

My wish is that we had ‘summer time’ the year around, it would save energy and bring some light in the dark winter afternoons.
The morning in the winter is still dark, but all human being, especially those who works inside in artificial light, year around,
would appreciate just one tiny light hour when they comes home!

Believe me, after working 10 years of my life, as Industrial Health Care Doctor, I know for sure smiley

Cheers
