I'm not sure where this person got this 'crap fake' - not even a 'good fake' - but I hope that there wasn't a large pricetag attached.
A friend of a friend bought 'real' Rolex from a guy who had a bunch of 'name brand' watches on a blanket on a beach in Florida. He paid $5000 for a piece of junk!
Why would anyone do that?!
Probably grabbed one of these for 20 bucks. A little sanpaper to make some "Geneva waves" - a little scraping tool for some Fleurissane engraving - some gold spraypaint. Looks about right.
For $20, at least, he could have saved about $80 on a movement to dismantle. ;-)
Its amazing how every time this question is asked it is always fake! Actually I seem to remember ONE time when somebody confirmed an authentic vintage watch......
