A family portait.

Three siblings, born, from left to right, 1938, 1937 and 1936.

A family portait.

good concept................. family portait of watches. really like it.

Hey loungers.....

dont stop here only. no need to tell, but waiting for more portaits

Nice Doc!

The one on the right is very sweet...

Although I am not a huge fan of the first one... the ugly duckling in the family, IMO (sorry Doc, you have so many, I can't love them all...) (by the way, is this a woman's watch?)

Yep, a ladie's watch!
03/12/2008 - 22:42

I love it, and think it's one of the nicest piece of art deco, that I could think of

BTW, I won it at an auction over the Vacheron Constantin Museum,

which the day after wanted to buy it from me!

So, there we go, we all have different tastes

Have one more look and just think of Alex's,

new "square" watch by MB&F......

This is avant garde!

As you said, we all have different taste...
03/13/2008 - 13:56

...I will not dispute that it is avant-garde, though...

And I like it a little bit more knowing it is a woman's watch

As for Alex's MB&F, ..., well,... let's just say that we have different taste

Looks like naptime for the kids by the water...Very nice presentation!

That's a very handsome family that you have there, Doc.

Nice watches, nice view, nice landscape, you are very lucky Doc! (nt)

I'm courious...
03/13/2008 - 02:44

...to know how much years they have all together

Re: I'm courious...
03/13/2008 - 12:43

Together, just count, and it will be 213 years,

less years than Vacheron&Constantin have produced watches,

and roughly as old as this movement!

But still, together they are 32 years older than this

But I can handle that !

Most people remember the 1930's
03/13/2008 - 03:37
as the time of the Great Depressioin. Doc remembers it as the time when VC made the finest art deco watches of anyone! That is a really nice group of watches, Doc. Thanks for sharing them with us.Bill
Yes Bill, it was hard times,
03/13/2008 - 12:46

I know that Vacheron&Constantin during 1937 only produced 439 watches,

though they had capacity for making 3.000 pieces.

For Doc, that's the real tragedy
03/13/2008 - 14:22

Only 439 VC watches produced, with a capacity of 3,000...

And considering that VC never produced more than 24 pieces of each model, that doesn't translate into rarer pieces, but rather less Pure Art Deco models

Imagine the collection you could have had if VC had been running at full capacity... Doc, I feel your pain...

LOL !!

You are the man

nice bunch...

BTW, do you always check on the provenience of your vintage VCs as carefully as in the monopusher case?
