Welcome to THL!
Hi and welcome!
TThe Art of Vacheron Constantin has a similar-looking watch (Page241, # 235, top right in photo)
The case, crown and lugs are the same with S/N 328663. But the dial is not guillochéed and the indices are different.
However the movement S/N is 436617, and it is a ref 457.
The watch in the photo is ref.4238 completed 1952 and sold in 1957.
So I expect yours has a similar Ref number 423? and was probably completed about 1950-51.
However, I think the movement was from the mid 1940's (44-45).
Alex and the Heritage Dept. can tell you more accurately.
i don't have any more information. Welcome and enjoy your visits. That is a beautiful watch.
Wonderful! Would you please post some additional photos when yuo have a chance?
You seem to appeciate this watch as much as I do! I especially love the way the cross bars wrap around the vertical sides, appearing to pull them together. I am delighted to provide more photos, although I find it difficult to get shots that really do the watch justice. Here are a few I think are okay. Hope you enjoy them!
Gosh, the case is as lovely as the dial. Great photos you have taken, as well.
All the best,
The additional pictures really show what you described about the crossbars.
Now, being needy and greedy...we need a wristshot!
Thank you!! Doesn't everyone choose their shirt for that reason? (nt)
The pattern on the dial is interestingly intricate.
Very nice watch!
I really appreciate your kind words, and most helpful information about the watch. I will provide more photos at respo's request as soon as I get a chance.
