A few pics of my small collection...

Hi all,

When I joined the lounge I was prompted (cheeky) to put a pic on my new and first precious Vacheron Constantin, a Overseas... After some time of hard work I finally made the time to take a few pics of it and of my few other loved ones...

I removed the case numbers in Photoshop of course. Perhaps someone likes the pics! They are coming in different replies to this post...

But there's still place for a dressier option, a VC Patrimony maybe? :-) How does your overseas comper to a Rollie, if I can ask that? All the best, Csaba

Csaba, Well, I have thought about that! Almost all of the really beautiful dressier ones are either too small (don't like them very much smaller than 39 mm) or too expensive. I would love to have the Patrimony Contemporaine Perpetual Calendar but it's out of my league moneywise I'm afraid... I have my eyes on a PP Aquanaut for the moment (since they are discontinued), well I will see... Compared to the Yachtmaster I would say this: - Overseas a bit thinner than YM - Overseas wider than YM - Overseas much more discrete than the YM (YM is a bit "bling") - Overseas feels just a little bit better on the wrist - I love both dials, the YM platinum dial is just exquisite in the sun and the guilloche dial on the Overseas is really beautiful - both watches are my favourites, if I had to choose between them today, honestly I'm not sure wich one I would go for - everybody knows what Rolex is (and think they know what it stands for) and - at least here - not that many have heard of VC, if that's important All the best Eric

Hello Eric! Thanks for your answers, I probably thought something like that about the comparison! By age, I'm more and more convinced, that those things, unknown for many have an edge, but Rolex is in its own league. I'm happy to hear, that VC is at least en paire. But I wouldn't consider the Aquanaut quite dressy:-) Best wishes, Csaba
Love your pics. Thanks for sharing. I really like your rolex.

As de Owar noted above, I see a theme developing in your collection! And I concur with tick-talk and kk that your photographs are smashing. It is good to see how much you appreciate your Yacht-Master. Several years ago I had bought for a close friend on his birthday a new Submariner in steel with the Yacht-Master sandblasted platinum dial and bezel like yours. Although a confirmed vintage watch aficionado enamoured almost exclusively with ultra-thin dress pieces by Vacheron Constantin, I had a soft spot for the amazing dial on that Submariner (and your Yacht-Master). Unfortunately, my friend felt differently, and chose to sell the watch to a pawn shop. If only he had thought to sell it back to me! But I digress . . . thank you for the wonderful images. I may be camera phobic, but I definitely enjoy good photography, and yours gave me great pleasure.
Lovely collection and fantastic photos

Eric, full marks for featuring these attractive pieces - beautifully photographedyes. Going forward, it would be good to hear your comments and observations on the VC range featured at SIHH recently. Best wishes Tony
