A few words - SIHH came and went

Dear fellow Loungers,

As the SIHH comes to an end, I permit myself to say a few words. I never had a chance to personally attend the SIHH, nor did I ever really follow the novelties introduced there in real time. This year, influenced by this great forum, I took a greater level of interest and followed with a vengeance...

Generally, it was a prolific year, with many makers producing interesting pieces. IWC had somethong to show, and Lange had a nice selection, includindg a not-so-Lange-looking Lange, which was pertcularly special, the Zeitwerk.

But why am I mentioning these at the Lounge? Because as a bystander, I think VC was miles above the rest. In every sense. The offering this year was particularly complete and balanced, and the cherries - were cherries indeed.

I must also have some full disclosure and admit that the new Patrimony Traditionnelle Perpetual Calendar Chronograph with a slate gray dial is quite possibly the most beautiful watch I saw in quite a while.

I want to thank Alex  for a great report on a great event. I also want to thank all the Loungers who never cease to teach and share their knowledge.

Who knows - maybe we'll meet at a future SIHH...
I agree regarding the Lange Zeitwork a great watch but some of the

collest watches were being presented during private viewings in by brands exhibiting in hotels in Geneva. It was a great year for VC as it was last year...and the year before :-)

Alex my dear, I have a feeling neither of us are objective...
I remember when I first visited VC at SIHH in 2009 I found 9 out of 10

novelties to be on the ugly side and ever since 2005 every year its getting better and better!
2009? You're tired, Alex. Get some sleep. You deserve it. :) nt

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about SIHH.  I really envy you in being there to see and touch all the goodies .  The return of in-house manufacture for the 1003 and 1120 top my list as the best news of 2009 and I look forward to seeing how they will be utilized during 2010.
Not in attendance, I'm afraid...

Dear tick-talk Unfortunately, as I said, I never attended the SIHH in person. I did however use my sleuthing abilities and followed up on all the goings-on. Had I attended, I would have been envious of me too ;) I sincerely hope we both will have a chance to go to a future SIHH. It really looks like fun. And what abvout some free samples...worth considering, no?
Oops...my mistake (nt)
