Finally able to share my new Vacheron but a vintage one Reference 6561

Along these years, I was enjoying big watches and sporty watches. Earlier this year, when I tried to search for a vintage dress watch with wearable size, finally I ended with this interesting (at least to me) vintage Vacheron.

- Steel case

- 37-38mm diameter, very strange to me as most of the dress watch from 60s should only be 36mm max. There are a few XXL models from Vacheron but this is a steel case which is not so common. Picture comparing with Rolex Explorer ...

- 18 jewel cal 454/5B which has 2 geneve seal on the movement.

- Nice decorated movement with swan neck regulator, but not all VC movements come with this ....

Lastly, a wrist shot

Still with some questions in my mind hopefully VC experts can share

- I am new to Vacheron but realized there is another version of 454/5B with 17 jewels and 1 geneve seal. Why are 2 versions of 454/5B manual wind existing?

- Is there any other steel version of VC with good decorated movement while definitely I might want to collect one more

- Anyone would know how many pieces of such steel VC would be produced? any good record to explain number of manufacturer?

Thanks for reading and sharing from all of you

Terence

only some were stamped with it depending on the demands of the clients! As for steel VC there have been a few references with steel versions, ref 6561 is rare in the sense that it was made only in steel!!!
welcome to the club :-) Great looking watch :-)
