Friday wear

I am a bit early in my timezone but as I would wear it tomorrow like today.
After beginning the week with a 4073, the usual suspect is back this winter, on bracelet.

C'est top, François! Un guillochage exceptionel! A beautiful guilloché pattern, very unique, the layout of the dial, the font of the numbers, and the shouldered lugs...parfait! Is that bracelet specifically for the watch because it looks like a factory match? Joseph
This GF bracelet were ordered by Vacheron, they are specific.

I met two Chronomètre Royal in similar configuration of case with bracelet. BUT One is with 36mm screwed caseback , a wonderful all yellow gold watch with the calssic CR dial. It's now property of a fellow lounger collection. And the other is mine all pink gold in 34mm with snap on caseback and that special guilloche dial. Both have similar bracelet pattern and looked similar. But even if looking similar, as the YG case is slightly larger the distance between lugs was a bit longer on the yellow gold. So the yellow gold bracelet was slightly larger, as far as I can remember it looked like that the central link size was slightly larger than on mine. Another interesting difference was the clasp. Both clasps are guilloche like the central link, the yellow gold had moreover the maltese cross which is not the case on mine. These bracelet are not common to say the least, so Vacheron specially ordered them and I suppose in very small quantities. If Alex or Archives have more infos I would be very glad to know more :) cheers and thanks for your appreciation Joseph. François
Thanks François

That history is most interesting. It's a beautiful retro combination. Here's my watch, now that it's Friday :-) Not a VC today but only one of two Pateks that I really like: The Pagoda in white gold
JB I just came across an upcoming auction lot on another

Watch blog where there are some interesting Pateks. One lot is a set of Pagodas in different dial colors / gold combinations if I'm not mistaken. Its a lovely watch with a great recent history. You are indeed lucky to have this. Which is the other Patek you like?
Hello kk, thank you for your comments

I had previously owned this combination in the Pagoda but sold it a few years ago. Another one finally came along. I like this one because it reminds me of my Chrono Historique in Platinum with a salmon dial. I also really love the shape and in the future will post a pic of it with another similar watch from Longines. VC had a similar one but they are almost impossible to find. The other Patek I really like and I did own it once was their Gondolo model in WG with Breguet numbers and a 2-step bezel. A small but very beautiful watch.

I think I know the PP you are referring to - with Roman numerals. I'm finding most recent time only and complication. PP's incredibly bland and in some cases ugly and also overpriced. I just like few Pateks at this level and prefer them at grande complication level.

I came across the auction you mentioned. Yes, it's quite a set! But there are only seven. They needed one more so an octupus could wear one on each arm!! devil Best, Joseph
Lucky octopus. :-)

A Patek with real design

I also love Patek when they go in the design direciton and I agree on the one you like. One of my biggest dream ius to have one day a Patek "Gilbert Albert" :)

Yes, that's quite a watch, François! It looks like the gondolo that I like (Ref: 5124, I think) but skewed which makes it a bit playful and very interesting.  I have never seen one for sale or at auction. Very unusual and probably very rare. Regards, Joseph
