Gala Dinner for VC 100th Anniversary of the Tonneau-Shaped Watch

Date: 14 Sep 12
Venue: Grand Ballroom, Capella Singapore

I had the pleasure of attending the Gala Dinner to mark VC 100th anniversary of its tonneau watches.  Below are some photos for sharing.  Pardon the poor quality from my iPhone.  It was, nonetheless, a very enjoyable evening, the people, the food, the perfomance and the watches on display, many from the VC Museum, I was told.

It started with the dancers.

Mr David Heng, GM VC (SE Asia) gave an opening speech to guests, whom gave him full attention.  There were several of these tonneau-shaped screens on the walls of the ballroom. That's VC's attention to details.

Since it's the night for the tonneau, so I honoured it by wearing

both watches and food look delectable cheeky.  I'd also love to know about any vintage shaped pieces...with shaped movements...that may have been included in the show wink.
There were a handful of vintage tonneau watches displayed

from 1912 to 1997, which is the one Historique 1912, which I wore also. Those are the pieces from the VC Museum. Couldn't capture decent photos of them in part due to the lighting & that I was only equipped with an iPhone & the crowd around the display also was a challenge. But it wasn't indicated which ones were with the form-shaped movements. Actually, I was hoping to learn that from the exhibition too. Nonetheless, those displayed pieces did wow at least some of the participants, whom might have otherwise stereotyped the tonneau-shape. Melvin
Looks like they were singing performances; what was the program? (nt)

If anyone thought that VC's creativity is just restricted to watches

he/she couldn't be more wrong.  That "watch" made even those guests whom showed little interest about watches (and more keen with the food, wine and performance) opened their eyes.  Melvin
