Grande Classique cal. 1400

I have been searching for a simple dress watch for some time.  Having shortlisted offerings from PP, Breguet, Lange, Moser and FPJ, I'm quite taken by the simple VC Grande Classique in white gold.  I like the case, the guillochage and the overall proportions (less so the size of the movement vis-a-vis the case but so be it).

May I please ask if the cal 1400 has a stop-second complication or does it at least permit hacking by turning crown anti-clockwise?

I have read the extensive review on Purists, I wonder if the minor criticisms there have been alleviated?

Any general comments on this piece, movement and indeed pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance  G.

I don't own a Malte Grand Classique however in terms

of movement finish and quality you may want to take a look at this article taken from Watch Time (it can be found in the Press Corner) on the Patrimony Contemporaine which also houses cal 1400

I'm a great fan of cal 1400 especially of the amazing finish it has which is definately on a whole different level compared to other simple hand winds.

The movement does not have a hacking feature and just tried with the small seconds patrimony of a collegue and I couldn't get the seconds hand to stop even by turning the hands backwards.

Many thanks
