Great visit to a friend and rare Merc...r there.

Last saturday I visited one friend who is well known watchmaker and watch resailer.

He knows my passion for VC and make me a great pleasure to admire and wear few new "Must Have" he received recently.

Firstly a "Paris" FRANCE enammeled platinium MERCATOR (1 out of 10)

Second Beauty: a Chronographe Historique Platinium

and in another range a rare tool watch Panerai 360 BBQ (1 out of 300)

I took these photos with my mobile phone, so sorry for the quality.

But, the pleasure was very intense, as you could imagine.

Thanks to him for this incredible saturday "day" (have dream saturday night LOL and till now)

Hope you enjoy too

If you want more info, by pm please.

I love the watch however I thought it was a different type of Merc!@!
archie your steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car! :-)

Archie, this is one stunning set of wheels...

OMG, this SL Pagoda is absolutely to die for, mate! If I may make a small suggestion, you should get a a cooler type of alloy wheels for your sedan... It would make it look a lot nicer. Let me put it that way: a nice set of alloy wheels on a car is like a great looking strap on an amazing watch. It simply enhances the impression ;-)
Blitzen Benz

Oh Archie, M-B is a real soft spot for me too .  Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz were competitors until they merged in 1926.  Daimler brought luxury and quality while Benz contributed their sporting DNA.  The Blitzen (Lightening) Benz of 1909 captured the world land speed record and defended the title for an astonishing 15 years!!  I had a little trouble getting this bespoke license plate from the Motor Vehicles Dept. as their guidelines prohibit any reference to speed...until I told them it was just the name of Santa's reindeer . I have to disagree with my good friend Radek on the wheels though...originality is a must with that beauty. PS...sorry for hijacking this thread Liger .
Don't worry Tick-Talk. You allow me to

discover a rare Merc....-B. Another hobby, even if I am not myself specially interested in vintage cars and I do prefer the VC Mercator. Cheers, Liger
Dean...

I referred to the E-Class sedan about the wheels. It's no vintage car, right? So, a nice set of AMG alloys would do the car a real justice... Anyway, how did you do on that race, in your E 500, you'd mentioned at SIHH? Was it Las Vegas? All the best, buddy! Radek
Sorry Radek...
03/29/2011 - 20:26
my mistake .  I agree the sedan would look wonderful with a set of AMG wheels... We are heading to Vegas in September then taking the long lazy way home via one of my favorite roads, Hwy 1 up the California coast. I like nice wheels too but the car also has a few unseen surprises...
Now look at that, Archie - great job, Dean!

I have to tell you guys - I will take Dean's E500 over Archie's E-Class sedan any day... That safety cage, wow!
The Mercator is gorgeous, I would love to see one in the flesh! (nt)

I am sure that Alex should be pleased to show you some

during a VC tour. Or do you planned to come in Paris? Cheers, Liger
Going to Paris is...
03/30/2011 - 18:52
the #1 destination on my list of places to go. Phenomenal beauty, architecture, art, history, etc makes me want to visit very badly. Unfortunately, it may be a few years from now because my kids are still very young and my wife and I are waiting for them to get a bit older to truely enjoy the experience.  On the trip I would also have to go on a VC factory tour in Geneva. That would be a must for any VC fan like us on The Lounge. So, hopefully one of these beautiful Mercators will cross paths with me some day. Do you live in Paris Liger? Best, Mike
