Greetings from new owner. A couple questions...

Greetings, gents. Just acquired my first VC -- a YG 49002 chronograph. Love the modest proportions. My 1st chronograph.

A few questions:

1) The chrono buttons are really stiff, especially the reset. I'd describe the action as: pressure, nothing, more pressure, nothing, then snap! Is this normal? Seems rather unrefined.

2) The winding rotor makes a rather loud sand-paper-like sound. This I assume is normal, but, again, seems somewhat less refined than I expected.

3) Its accuracy leaves a bit to be desired as well. Seems to be stable at +12s/day. Resting it crown up does not appear to have any retard effect. The watch was supposedly serviced before sale, so am surprised it was not regulated.

4) Impossible to set the time properly. The minute hand jumps a minute or two when I push the crown in (also stiff). All my other watches have screw down crowns, and so the time set requires just a gentle nudge, whereas this one requires a bit of pressure. Maybe I will get the hang of it with practice.

Lovely watch otherwise. However, realizing the tiny lettering is tough for my aging eyes!

I love the 49002, one of my favorite VC chronos. I think that

your watch probably needs to be serviced. Do you know when it was last serviced? Congrats on the watch and please do post some scans and impressions. Welcome to the Lounge yes

That watch is beautiful, congrats!yesyes By the way, is the caliber 1136 similar to the 1137 used in the OS? And welcome to the Lounge...
Looks to me like the diff between 1136 & 1137 is

the 1136 has the date at the bottom, whereas the 1137 has big date at the top. Suspect both based on the F. Piguet 1185. The vertical clutch design of the Piguet is no doubt excellent. Otoh, so far, I am less than impressed by the accuracy or the refinement of the rotor.
what a gorgeous watch. Congrats
