Hello and VC in Australia

Hello friends

My name is Don and I mainly live and work in between Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. I am a lawyer by profession.

Currently own a few Rolex and Cartier. Bit more active on TRF. I was into Omega, Panerai, Tudor, JLC but I have flipped all these.

I love and admire VC, the heritage and classic pieces are lovely. Looking to purchase a VC from an AD.

I would not wish to discuss prices openly on the forum but was wondering if any of you good people would have a US Price List. Reason being that I was back in Melbourne Australia last month and I visited the two ADs we have, but the prices seemed somewhat atronomical for VC. Approx US $30,000.00 for a two hand patrimony and around US $40,000.00 for Historique Ultra Fine 1968 "square watch".

It may be  wiser for me to obtain the piece I wish when I next holiday in the US. I am looking for a Patrimony Contemp - manual wind 40mm in rose gold.

Very impressed by the level of knowledge and culture here, especially the appreciation of fine watch making as opposed to pure investment or brand imagery.

Thanking you all in advance.

Don

I look forward to seeing pictures of your future VC. I'm sorry, but I can never remember the retail prices of specific watches, especially in different regions. I do know that the Historiques models always carry a price premium. Dan

Dear Dan Many thanks for your warm welcome. I look forward to contributing and learning from the wealth of resources that fellow members have about VC. I find the Historique models to be sublime and so very elegant. My other passion is guitars of which I have put in my avatar photo. I have been reading with much interest the "Masks" collection and "Sputnik", both lovely pieces. Lucky are those who have such treasures adorn their wrists. Kind regards Don

Hi Don! Welcome to the Hour Lounge!  I hope you get the VC you are looking for! Especially with the strong Aussie dollar, you may get a bargain when in the US! Look forward to more of your contributions! With best regards JAMES

Dear All Many thanks for all your kind words of welcome. Dear Alex, yes the Flying V is an all time classic. Bit impractical to sit and play but this special guitar was born to rock on a stage and not for weekend warriors like me who sit down on a comfy couch and play little bits. I am hoping to purchase a Fender Custom Shop within the year. Hamish, James and Dan, great to know some fellow locals are on this lovely forum. Cheers Don
