Hello everyone! I can't tell which watch this is....

Hi Everyone,

I am very happy to have joined this wonderful little forum!

Thanks for having me!

I have a problem however, which I was hoping you could help me with. Unfortunately my grandfather just past away and left me a few watches and cuttlery. He had been implying that one of these watched was of decent stature in the 'watch collector world'.

However, being a novice, I am unable to find out anything about it...even the serial number.

The last time he mentioned it to me he was telling me that he thought it came from the 1950's -60's but he couldn't be sure.

He told me that it was a manual, which was 'unusual' for the model. Of course.... these are just words to me....

Anyway... I have attached some images and would be so greatful if you could provide me with your thoughts.

Thanks so much!  Hello everyone! I can't tell which watch this is....

Ben

extra slim manual wind cal 1003 (and its not unusual at all).

However to get more information you will need to have a watchmaker open the case back and give you the reference number inscribed in the case back.

Hi Alex, Thanks for the speedy response! I will take it to a watch-servicing company today to check it out. I don't think I can sell it though, but I am still interested in finding out more! Thanks for this Alex. I think this forum is fantastic! Keep it up! Take Care Ben

Sorry to hear about the conditions under which you acquired the watch. However, the watch is a real beauty - very simple and elegant. CHeers,  Francois
