Help! The London VC Boutique has a grave problem...

... Yes, and very literally. They've lost them all! None of the watches I saw there yesterday have a 'grave' mark above the e in Genève on the dial... They all had Geneve. What's going on? If only this were an acute problem and it would be all over quite quickly. But grave... That's where it all comes to an end... Admittedly I only checked out the ones I happened to be scrutinising as potential collection material and not the entire stock.. This is serious stuff. I should articulate that this is not phoney... I was expecting this :-0

After they dropped the "&", anything was possible surprise.  I understand that in French it's grammatically acceptable to leave off accents when using capital letters?  Still, I'm surprised at this break from tradition...
How will we tell the fakes from the real VCs now?

Did you loupe it?

I just looked at a brand new 81180 (now with the case also stamped with the Geneva Hallmark. I can't see the accent on the E with the naked eye, but it was definitely there under magnification. Bill
Yes, on 3 different watches....

Gary's not lying...

...the proof: As Gary said, this is not only on the London edition. The Patrimony Contemporaine Boutique Edition also had the accent missing. Same for the Patrimony 14 days tourbillon (sorry for the quality of the photo...) Ink-saving/ cost-cutting exercise from our friends in Geneva?wink

Maybe they left it off just for the English and US markets since the "accent grave" is not used (well hardly ever), in English. Just a thought... Or perhaps someone just screwed up.

Hi Joseph...Maybe there are only few, like mint mistakes, with these "screw-ups"? If so: Think there would be any additional collectors' value ;-)

I think this is true for the new models:

design it was decided to remove the accent, which nevertheless is correct in French as you're not to put an accent on a capital letter
Will service dials have it added!?

So Mr Ghotbi, are you actually telling us that for the last

I've yet to see a complete watch with this marque though.
